Igarapé is a South American think tank with an International presence. Based in Rio de Janeiro the organization works to implement political change and raise awareness in these áreas: citizen security, drug policy, cyber security, sustainable development, global networks.
For this project we were invited to rebrand the instution; create a new website and new visual identity for digital and print material.
Our goal was to modernize their identity, reflect their new technological element but not lose their roots and human connection. We took inspiration from elements of Brazilian Indigenous design as well as the institutes indigenous name Igarape which means “the way of the canoe” – (amazonians waters ways for trade and communication.) We worked these ideas into a minimalist and clean design, large type, with a few key color elements including wine red which is the Institutes oficial color.
